Look at her face, she is so young, yet you turn your back on her. Give them the gift we've turned to gray; after all we've had our day. There's still ice in our caps; There's still gas in our tanks; but when we fall we break legs. And I'd examine myself but we know trying is the first step towards failure.

Faith in the land I love With the word of god echoed in our laws I see we're free as free should be But we are in danger of the enemy How about a war Yes, yes a war We'll start a war To end all war

Tune in to know the newest way death will finally find us. Tune if for accusations, rumors incriminating all. Keep children safe in their beds. Don't ever trust your neighbors. Your government will save you. Color codes your panic level now. Frightened citizens: better consumers. Ignore expert opinion. Sensational reporting breeds fear, hides truth, makes money. The media controls the masses with scare tactics and products. Abusing the First Amendment, real problems go unnoticed. Culture of paranoia turns skin into skin color. Sheep sleep with their guns loaded. Your neighbors are out to get you. In suspicion we stand. Stay home. In suspicion we stand. Lock your doors.

For putting your family first And those incredible thankless meals. For those nine months you carried me. For your big heart inside, I will feel endlessly indebted. For investing in endlessly stress, I will feel endlessly indebted. For those late nights you were there to talk. For loving us no matter what we did. For having that first martini And understanding about the Miata... For your big heart inside, I will feel endlessly indebted. For investing in endlessly stress, I will feel endlessly indebted. Took my fears away. Held me close and safe. Fed the strength for life. Almost scary how perfect you are.

The human mind is desperate for a guiding hand, so deities are born. The weight of life and death are just too much for us, so religious books are penned. In Christ they found a white right, then raped him of his word. The word "God" removes our guilt now to conquer, blame, and burn. The intolerance inherent in theology will end this world one day. The fundamentalists will serve their gods, fusion bombs will detonate. In Christ they found a white right, then raped him of his word. The word "God" removes our guilt now to conquer, blame, and burn. With martyrs promised paradise And seventy-two virgins Western dominance expands

Once, in a land of darkness--long ago--when all the Earth was covered in darkness and shadow under a spell of an evil sorceress witch, the people cried for deliverance, and no child was born for many a long year. Out of the mountains of Bothzak a hero did answer their call: riding forth upon his stalwart steed, brandishing the heirloom of his house: the jewel encrusted claymore. Forth he rode into the night, slaying foes great and small, and all evil did flee before this valiant hero and the might of the jewel-encrusted claymore. At last the hero came to the evil witch's realm and lo, he looked upon the barren wasteland: frozen and dry where no life could take hold. And with his claymore he smote the witch's minions and at long last stood face to face with her. And he did run her through with his claymore, piercing the soft flesh beneath the witch's callous exterior. She gave a cry of pain and--yet it seemed to all that did witness--possibly a cry of ecstasy, as well. And behold, impossibly he saw that she was unharmed and fair now to look upon. The skies of the land opened upon the Earth and life began to bloom anew. She looked upon him and said, "Oh, most valiant of heroes, thou hast delivered me from a fate worse than death. Verily I beseech you, wilt thou pierce me with thy jewel-encrusted claymore once more?" And so he did and all the land rejoiced.

Kept in the dark of our intentions. Miss Mother Murder pick up her gun. Smother their culture with mayonnaise; extract the black without public blame. We blanket blood with patriot sound. Our bandages yellow ribbon bound. How'd she always know?

Liner Notes:

Musical Quintet Finally Finishes Album
by Felton Nightengale

Nearly a year and a half since laying their first tracks in the first studio, pseudo-rockers L'elan Vital have epically put the finishing touches on their debut record The Wink & The Gun.

The group began tracking their works in September 2006 with a graduate student at the University of Colorado at Denver. The project hit snags when their engineer had a car stolen, lost a $2,000 microphone, was violently assaulted, and had the car stolen again - all thwarting their attempted recording sessions.

In March of 2007 - with virtually nothing completed - the band took their project to Ryan Perschbacher, an uber well-dressed engineer in Broomfield, CO. Conning Perschbacher with their firm handshakes and full-time employments, the hellions of L'elan Vital convinced him to mix their album. Over the next few months, the members tracked their works and became ready to wait. And then they waited. Then, when the waiting was in full-swing, vocalist Bosch learned ProTools and took over the editing of the tracks. Following a rapid matter of mouse-clicks, the tracks were edited and again L'elan Vital was waiting.

Sensing their imminent sub-stardom, these possible one-hit wonderers, recruited more engineers and filmed their first music video for their coming of age piece: "Pop That Collar Chad". Their head film engineer Ben Frank followed engineering suit and enforced a healthy college semester of waiting on the starry-eyed boy band. To date, the video has no ETA and L'elan Vital is again waiting with big patient smiles (it's actually long finished now: www.youtube.com/watch?v=ddyRHleiR20)

Waiting through the year anniversary of the group's first session, Perschbacher chose to pursue a position with the F.B.I. and quit cigarettes / the recording industry. With two tracks left to record and nothing but time to wait, the quintet took their two eldest songs back to the studio to pit them against famed Dork guitarist Brian Johannsen.

After zero waiting, large sums of money exhausted, and too many corrective mixing sessions, the final two tracks were actually completed.

Just when L'elan Vital thought no more waiting was possible, computer crashes, drive failures, Christmas breaks, friends, sicknesses, movies, tanning, the gym, and questionable pregnancies delayed the conclusion another few short months.

And yet, following a two-year-old-esque temper tantrum from Bosch, involving name-calling, leg-kicking, and alleged tears, Perschbacher decided to "just finish the damn thing." and the rest is hardly well-known history.
