L'elan Vital was brain born in Barcelona while Brandon Bosch was studying abroad in 2004. He envisioned a project that would
infuse environmentalism and humor into the Post Rock genre. The band was formed over a craiglist ad from abroad.
The name "L'elan Vital" was caught by Brandon while reading the closing chapters of "This side of Paradise" by F. Scott Fitzgerald.
